THE MOST STABLE CREATINE

Relevance for athletes

The dosage of common creatine forms usually amounts to 20 g or more per day. This amount was indeed necessary to achieve a result. A large amount of creatine was already destroyed in the stomach and therefore an athlete had to take more creatine.

How did this destruction happen?

The stomach is filled with gastric acid. This acid with a pH-value of 1,8 is essential e.g. to destroy bacteria in food or to induce the splitting of proteins. Unfortunately, this acid also destroys common creatine.

Acid buffer for more stability of creatine

A buffer was applied to buffer the destructive acid and protect the creatine from being destroyed in the gastric acid. Then, the creatine compound arrived in the stomach with pH 10 and met with pH 1,8. As a result, the buffer worked as protection and the creatine was not, or only to a small extent, destroyed.

KREA-GENIC® is a double-buffered absorption booster

KREA-GENIC® contains two buffers:
• One to buffer the gastric acid in the stomach
• Second to buffer the blood.

That is new and the biggest advantage of KREA-GENIC®. Even if the creatine comes through the stomach intact, it still has to get into the muscle. That is far more important!

Titration of creatine with 0,1 M HCI

The following diagram shows the stability of creatine and KREA-GENIC® in the acid environment:

– • – pH Creatine monohydrate, single buffered

Remains stable longer than unbuffered creatine.

– • – pH KREA-GENIC®, double buffered

Remains stable longer than single-buffered creatine monohydrate.

Muscle pH is a measure of acidity and alkalinity in muscle intracellular fluid.

pH is really a measure of the relative amount of free hydrogen and hydroxyl ions in the water (fluid).

With the homogenization method, intracellular pH values in the range 7.04-7.17 have been obtained for resting muscle.

Muscle pH < 7 indicates that muscles are in acidic state.
It happens when muscles contract, lactic acid is created and accumulated in the muscle fibers under high energy demand. When muscle PH decreases, the muscles get tired and may not be able to contract as effectively. Some people may notice a burning sensation in the muscles during exercise.

Muscle pH = 7 indicates that muscles are in a neutral state.
Muscles rest, do not work

Muscle pH > 7 indicates that muscles are in alkaline state.
Basic muscle state. Muscles, like your blood, prefer to be in a slightly alkaline state. However, unlike blood, the pH of muscle is more variable. This variability can have an effect on your physical performance. Everything you eat influences your pH.
